The “gorges de la Fou” is a natural site located between Arles-sur-Tech, Corsavy and Montferrer. These narrow gorges can be securely visited thanks to footbridges along them.

The river la Fou begins at la Souque and dug this long and narrow canyon of 1739 m in the calcareous rock.

10 h to 18 h, every day from the beginning of April to the end of November. Exiting Arles-sur-Tech on the D115 road, in the direction of Prats de Mollo and Saint Laurent de Cerdans.

Activity of the whole family. At the entrance, you will be given an helmet and then, you would visit the gorges thanks to the footbridges. As it is a roundtrip, the entrance and exit are located at the same place. Ideal tour in case of intense heat because the site is fresh and humid.

Legend about Les Gorges de la Fou

Les Gorges de la Fou are believed to be the point of reference for the Trabucayres. These highwayman were hiding their loot in the numerous caves. Executed in 1846, no one knows where their treasures were hidden.
